Intelligence Analysts work throughout Essex supporting policing services designed to prevent crime and protect people from harm, bring offenders to justice and promote confidence in the Community.


Based at Essex Police Force Headquarters, Chelmsford you will be responsible for providing analytical support aimed at:


  • Identifying and analysing patterns and trends in crime.


  • Identifying crime series


  • Identifying and targeting significant offenders.


You will have a real impact on planning and decision making helping to inform decision makers to shape the operational strategies and protect people from harm


Initially you will be based at Chelmsford; however your role may require you to work at any police station within Essex and you must be prepared to travel throughout the county.


There will be ability tests in verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning, a 15 minute presentation and a 45 minute interview as part of the selection process.


This post is deemed to be a ‘designated’ post which means that you will be subject to management vetting as per Essex Police policy.
