This an exciting role for a talented internal communications professional. Essex Police is a large, complex organisation with 5,500 police officers, staff and volunteers spread across the county.  The five strong Internal Communications team leads on getting information and news out to everyone internally, as well as looking for innovative ways to reach and engage with such a wide variety of colleagues.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills across the range of media, understand the specific communications needs of both an office based and peripatetic workforce, pay attention to detail and accuracy, and ideally have experience of working in a complex, geographically spread organisation. You will have a strategic approach to your work, be a great influencer and educator to help colleagues get their message across in the right way, and always consider how to measure the success of a project. Event planning experience is also useful; juggling diaries, venues, invitations and guests’ requests, briefings … and having contingency plans in your back pocket.
