Resolution Centre Investigator

Full time shift work based at Essex Police Headquarters - Chelmsford.

 

Starting Salary £21,135  rising to £23,406 plus up to 20% shift enhancement depending on shift pattern

About the role

As a part of the RC the aim of your role is to provide a 24-hour service to members of the public, operational police officers and partners dealing with crime reports.

You will deal with members of the public reporting their crimes and will be assessing the information using a number of factors including the level of threat, harm and risk and utilising the National Decision Making Model to ensure that Essex Police’s response is proportionate and in line with policies and procedures.

In addition, you will ensure Essex Police is working in line with current legislation and policy including the National Standard for Incident Recording, National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS) and Home Office Counting Rules.

 

What will you be doing?

 

  • You will be responsible for taking 101 non-emergency calls from members of the public
  • You will be liaising with operational police officers ensuring the reports they input are compliant with NCRS
  • Reviewing non-emergency incidents sent from the Force Control Room to the Resolution Centre and conducting an assessment on how we respond.
  • Undertaking desk based solvability assessment using various IT systems
  • Reviewing how we have dealt with an incident to ensure this is correct and complies with legislation including the NCRS
