An exciting opportunity has arisen to join to the Security Systems team as an Administrator.

 

As a Security Systems Administrator, your role will be to undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties to support to the Security Systems Office. You will update and maintain alarm records to make certain of their accuracy and compliance with of the National and Essex Police Policy. You will be responsible for issuing invoices and ensuring payment is received. You will maintain and update the Essex Police Command and Control system (currently STORM) with essential location comments, new addresses and staffing changes. You will be required to speak to and email members of the public, alarm industry employees, and Police Officers to deal with their enquiries and concerns. 

 

We are looking for someone who can work within a small team. You must be methodical and accurate in their work, as they will be inputting and verifying a vast amount of critically important data. You must comply with and enforce Security Systems policy and Data Protection laws. The role involves using a range of computer programmes which the candidate is unlikely to be familiar with, therefore the ability to learn these systems with one to one support is essential. Within the first few months you will be expected to attend a three day nationally run Security Systems Administrator course which will be fully funded including travel and accommodation.

 

Applicants are to provide evidence of:

 

  • Your previous work background, with a particular focus on data accuracy and data security.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills because you will be required to provide advice and guidance to industry experts, members of the public and policing colleagues of all ranks.
  • Your experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

 

The Security Systems Department is located on the Essex Police Headquarters site in Chelmsford. This role is office based agile working, which will allow the opportunity for some working from home once sufficient training has been given.

 

Working hours are 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, there is scope for some flexibility around start and finish times. No weekend or Bank Holiday working is required.
