Applications are invited from individuals seeking an excellent opportunity for a unique role within the Talent Management space in Human Resources. This is a fast paced and dynamic role with engagement across multiple departments across the force, on a daily basis delivering high quality people focused approach to development, in order to meet the organisational needs across Essex and Kent.

 

You will work closely supporting colleagues across both forces in Learning & Development (L&D), Human Resources (HR), Operational teams, Finance, Positive Action and Senior Leadership teams.

 

The role leads the delivery of a range of development opportunities for staff and officers, enabling individuals to maximise their potential, to assist in enhanced personal and organisational delivery.  Examples of opportunities you may be involved in are: police officer promotion boards, senior staff selection and appointment, succession planning of all grades and ranks, Develop You, College of Policing initiatives. Being part of the collaborative Resourcing Department, you will also have the opportunity to engage and learn more about the broader recruiting and resourcing of the force, through close working with resourcing colleagues.

 

The successful candidate will report to the People Development Officer.

 

Applicants will provide evidence of the following skills/experience;

  • Ability to plan, lead and deliver multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.
  • Strong presentational and interpersonal skills and have the ability to engage at all levels including executive level colleagues.
  • Collaborative working with others to achieve mutual goals and provide support to colleagues.
  • Prioritising competing workloads and identify risk to take action in mitigating risk or escalating where appropriate.

It is desirable for applicants to have knowledge of the National Police Promotion Framework, wider policing talent management processes and/ or HR/L&D practices. Training and CPD will be provided to the successful applicant on all workstreams within the team.

 

This is a collaborative role with the opportunity to cover both Essex Police and Kent Police so travel to each force will be required

 Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £29,424.00.

Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to. This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.
